Nestled in the vibrant heart of Las Cruces, New Mexico, the Three Crosses Regional Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program (TCRH IMRP) is a newly accredited, three‑year graduate medical education initiative with a bold mission: to cultivate skilled, compassionate physicians deeply rooted in community care. As one of Southern New Mexico’s newest residency offerings, the program unfolds in a warm, collegial environment that places a premium on mentorship, camaraderie, and physician well-being.

Residents train in a full-service, 46‑bed acute‑care facility complete with a modern ICU, dynamic diagnostics, and a responsive ER—offering a home‑base that blends cutting‑edge clinical resources with a supportive, small‑town spirit. The program emphasizes primary care, featuring its own hospital‑owned internal medicine clinic established in early 2023. This clinic, equipped with eight exam rooms and staffed by internal medicine primary care physicians, is built to foster continuity and meaningful patient panel development.

Inpatient training is delivered by a committed team of five full‑time board‑certified hospitalists, augmented by two additional experienced internal medicine physicians with rich backgrounds in clinical practice, administration, and research. Beyond core medicine, residents enjoy elective rotations in specialty-owned clinics—such as cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, pain, and gynecology—ensuring exposure to a broad, well-rounded clinical spectrum. A defining goal of the program is community retention—the hospital actively gives preference to local candidates and strives to have at least 50% of residents remain in Las Cruces post-training, helping to address care needs in underserved communities.
