As the newest family medicine residency in the state, the program blends small‑town warmth with big‑picture medical education, offering comprehensive training across Lea County and into neighboring Lubbock, Texas.
 
Rooted in a mission to nurture confident, well-rounded family physicians, the Nor‑Lea program delivers patient‑centered care to underserved populations in inpatient and outpatient settings, fostering a tight-knit bond between residents and the community. Nor-Lea Hospital Districts Family Residency Program features a sleek simulation center, a structured block learning schedule and dedicated faculty who guide personalized career development, empowering residents to blend clinical care with scholarly inquiry in a supportive, rural environment.
 
Built on strong local and regional partnerships with organizations like Covenant Health System, Covenant Hobbs Hospital, Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, and support from the JF Maddox Foundation, the residency offers rotations in behavioral health, OB/maternity care and pediatrics, ensuring a truly well-rounded rural training experience.
