At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
- Cite New Mexico’s eligibility requirements for Medical Aid in Dying (MAID), and the rationale for this end-of-life option,
- Describe MAID pharmacology, preparation, routes of administration, and potential complications that could affect successful ingestion of MAID prescriptions,
- Outline clinical and family counseling procedures before and after MAID medication ingestion,
- Cite legal requirements for documentation of terminal prognosis, competency, pronouncement of death, documentation (including death certificate) and data filing.
